Solar Farm Engineering & Development

Independent engineering and development support for utility-scale solar — from early gates through procurement, grid connection and investment review.

Development constraints and decision gates

Solar programmes advance through land and access, network capacity, equipment selection and capital efficiency decisions that must stay aligned. TDTEC helps owners and developers frame each gate with explicit risks and evidence requirements — connection sequencing, layout and DC/AC architecture choices, and co-location with storage where applicable.

Prior employment experience includes portfolio-scale solar development and engineering leadership on utility-scale programmes; that history informs advisory work on your mandate without being claimed as TDTEC delivery on those assets.

Engineering and grid interfaces

Solar value concentrates in the electrical system: inverters, trackers, cabling, substation design, protection and the connection agreement pathway. Review and advisory work tests whether studies, equipment choices and operating assumptions match network requirements and realistic construction sequences.

  • Connection strategy and study programme alignment
  • Collector system, inverter and MV design interfaces
  • Performance, degradation and availability assumptions
  • Co-located BESS electrical and contractual boundaries

EPC and performance risks

EPC and equipment contracts must reflect deliverable scope — not optimistic layouts from development. TDTEC supports tender evaluation, technical schedule review and identification of interface gaps that commonly drive delay, defect claims or underperformance.

EPC procurement & commercial support connects engineering requirements to procurement and negotiation. TDTEC does not act as EPC contractor.

Due diligence and owner support

Acquisitions, refinancings and lender reviews need asset-specific diligence on resource and energy yield logic, operating history, warranty status and grid exposure. Renewable energy due diligence covers solar-specific investment risk; technical due diligence applies where the asset sits in a broader infrastructure context.

Owner-side assurance through development and construction can draw on design assurance and programme-level project assurance where governance requires an independent view.

Do you support residential or commercial rooftop solar?

No. TDTEC focuses on utility-scale and material industrial solar programmes.

Can you review solar-plus-storage projects?

Yes. Co-located BESS requires explicit review of shared connection assets, controls interfaces and contractual splits between generation and storage scope.
