Electrical & Renewable Energy Engineering

Independent electrical and renewable energy engineering for projects where safety, compliance, performance and delivery interfaces carry real consequence. TDTEC works owner-side and advisory-side — not as a substitute EPC designer.

Independent engineering for complex projects

TDTEC provides senior electrical engineering judgement for energy and infrastructure decisions: development gates, procurement, design assurance, grid strategy and handover. Engagements are scoped to the decision you need to make, with findings that decision-makers can act on.

The practice is led by Timothy Davies, CPEng (Electrical and Leadership & Management), RPEQ and TÜV FS Eng. Prior roles — including engineering leadership on utility-scale solar, BESS and wind portfolios, hydrogen and ammonia development, and high-voltage commissioning — inform how advisory work is structured. That experience is attributed to those employers; it is not presented as TDTEC project delivery.

  • Owner-side and independent review, not design-by-proxy
  • Renewable generation, storage and industrial power systems
  • National delivery from a Brisbane base

Electrical and power systems

Electrical scope spans protection and earthing interfaces, substation and collector systems, high-voltage connection points, equipment selection and the studies that support them. Where a connection or network study requires specialist modelling beyond the agreed scope, TDTEC can coordinate with dedicated study consultants while retaining an owner-side view of assumptions, inputs and conclusions.

High-voltage commissioning and connection-interface experience from prior employment — including APLNG HV infrastructure — supports practical review of energisation, testing and operational readiness, not just paper design.

Renewable energy and storage

Solar, wind and battery energy storage projects share a common challenge: technical assumptions must stay aligned with grid limits, procurement choices and the commercial case. TDTEC advises on system boundaries, performance expectations, integration risks and the evidence needed before major commitments.

Battery storage advisory draws on prior employment experience — including engineering leadership on Richmond Valley–scale solar plus long-duration BESS and portfolio-scale renewables work — to stress-test use cases, degradation logic and delivery interfaces without overstating TDTEC as the delivering party on those programmes.

Review and owner-side support

When designs, studies or contractor proposals need an independent test, structured assurance beats ad hoc comment. The same applies across development and delivery: someone owner-aligned must define scope, track interfaces and escalate material risk before it becomes a claim.

Brisbane base, national delivery

TDTEC is Brisbane based and works nationally on energy and infrastructure projects. Initial discussions clarify project stage, systems in scope, timing and the information available — so effort stays proportionate to the decision.

Contact TDTEC on 0432 716 958 or [email protected] to discuss engineering scope, or use the enquiry form to outline your project confidentially.
