Wind Energy Project Advisory
Independent advisory for onshore wind development, delivery and transaction decisions — connecting technical findings with investment and owner-side priorities.
Development and feasibility interfaces
Wind projects depend on resource work, turbine selection, logistics, consenting and grid capacity coming together on a credible timeline. TDTEC supports developers and owners by testing whether feasibility assumptions, study programmes and interface plans are coherent enough for the next investment gate.
Experience from prior employment includes engineering leadership on utility-scale wind within broader renewable portfolios; advisory work applies that delivery view to your project without presenting those programmes as TDTEC engagements. TDTEC does not claim offshore wind delivery experience unless separately evidenced for a specific mandate.
Engineering and delivery risk
Electrical and control interfaces — collector systems, substations, SCADA, protection and the connection pathway — often determine whether a wind farm meets performance and schedule expectations. Review concentrates on design maturity, OEM and BOP boundaries, and commissioning readiness.
- Grid connection and Generator Performance Standard interfaces
- Electrical balance of plant and substation design review
- Turbine supply agreement technical schedules versus owner requirements
- Commissioning, energisation and operational handover planning
Procurement and owner-side support
Major equipment and EPC contracts allocate weather, logistics and performance risk through technical schedules that deserve owner-side scrutiny before signature. TDTEC can support evaluation, assurance and ongoing owner-side review through owner's engineering and EPC procurement support.
Design assurance on defined packages is available through engineering design assurance where the mandate is package-level rather than programme-wide.
Asset and acquisition review
Operating and late-stage construction wind assets require diligence on resource and availability assumptions, turbine warranty and O&M interfaces, curtailment exposure and historical performance. Renewable energy due diligence addresses wind-specific investment risk within a transaction timeline.
Broader infrastructure context — shared transmission, hybrid sites or corporate portfolio acquisitions — may also use technical due diligence with a defined wind workstream.
Do you provide offshore wind engineering?
TDTEC's documented experience is in onshore utility-scale wind and portfolio engineering leadership. Offshore-specific claims are not made unless a future mandate is supported by verifiable scope and competence.
Can you replace a wind resource consultant?
No. Resource and wake studies are reviewed for assumptions and uncertainty where agreed; specialist resource consultants remain responsible for production modelling.
